A brief outline of the milestones achieved by the CGJTA Training Center, which was established almost a year ago, will be provided.
The objective of the Training Center is to guide and train the younger generation of entrepreneurs entering this industry, ensuring that advanced knowledge and training are acquired to meet international supply standards.
Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge are gained by our students in areas such as pre-forming, polishing, identification, heating, and gemstone calibration.
Spanning four months, the program blends theoretical and practical classes led by industry experts. So far, 60 students have been successfully trained and have completed the course, while 30 are currently undergoing industry training. Over 200 students are eagerly awaiting their opportunity to join and learn.
Graduates of our program receive a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) certification and an official Gem Cutter’s License issued by the NGJA.
Reflecting on this journey, a diploma in natural Gemstone Heating was launched by CGJTA three years ago. This program provided hands-on experience to 50 participants, many of whom now add significant value to our industry.
In conclusion, CGJTA’s mission is to develop expertise that meets industry demands across all facets, from job creation to career guidance, and ultimately to drive industry growth. Opportunities for female participation are being opened for those enthusiastic about a career in this industry. The finest, most qualified lecturers from Sri Lanka conduct our training programs, fostering a thriving future for our gemstone industry.
Lastly, some very special news: a student from our training center has been selected to build a career at a firm in the UAE. We are proud to be part of this career milestone.
